Any insiders know how recruiting is going for Mulkey and staff?

I know the #1 player in the country is committed to Mulkey. Idk about anyone else but I’d be surprised if we don’t have a top 5 class when all is said and done.

There is also a guard from Chicago that has been committed since like February.
They are in on several recruits though. If not already finished, they’re about to wrap up summer evals and watching summer ball. Have already had a couple of visitors I believe and will have some in the fall for football weekends; so I imagine they’ll end up with a few more from all that.

It’s been relatively quiet outside of Williams announcement. Not to say that wasn’t a huge get. Maybe this class will take shape in the fall.

Well I’m sure she’d get several endorsements. And she has an NIL deal so I doubt she’s broke.

They have 2 commits. The other commit is a Top 50 player from Chicago. They will sign a couple more and then supplement from the portal next spring.

FYI, #8 prospect Aalyah Rosario, and 6’6 center from the Bronx (goes to HS in TN now) announced her final four schools

Nervous about this one. Believe she and the PG are a package deal. Her commitment could really set this 23’ class apart. I know she really likes Tennessee. We shall see!

She was born in Texas (raised in Dominican republic) but moved back to the States when in 7th grade to the Bronx. And just very recently has started attending a HS in Tennessee. Its not like she is a homegrown Tennessee recruit.
Idk if they will land her, those are some tough other schools to fend off but you have a 1/4 chance.

I just hope we have a back up option. I’d like to see Kim’s offer list. But the portal helps a ton now in recruiting if you miss on a big target.

Recruiting is unpredictable, you win some you lose some. Then you have the transfer portal which is an entire recruiting season in itself. You could argue the portal may be even more impactful, you're landing seasoned college player who you know what you're getting verses HS recruits who are a bit of unknowns (who half of them end up transferring anyways).
Reese and M. Williams have been recruiting her for a while. She is friends with Kateri Poole who is from the Bronx as well (same AAU organization).
If they land her, thats terrific. If not you got the portal. Look what the portal did for LSU this past year. They landed Angel Reese and a cast of other talented players. They would be fine either way. Its impressive that they have landed the players they have and in the mix with others this early.
