Yea, we know about St Aug. Part of the reason both teams are playing in that game at OP Walker is to get a look at each other cause they both feel they are each others best competition in class. Now Huntington is good and Qualls is good but I wanna know what they replaced because they did lose some seniors that started, and they beat Bossier last year 2 out of 4 but they both were without one of Bossier's best guards. But with no Bossier, no Glen Oaks in 4A this year its a little separation at the top. Watch out for ASH too...went 27-4 last year, weak schedule but losses to Northside, Istrouma and 2 to Peabody. They are a team to watch, and they've beefed up the schedule so we'll see what they have early but they should be top 4 or 5.

Huntington will be replacing their 6'9 center with a soph that is 6'6/6'7 but is much more aggressive than the Jones kid that graduated. They also will be returning a sophmore who started inside last as a freshmen who is about 6'4 but very solid. They will be replacing the marshall kid with a junior guard who is not as big but handles the ball much better, is very quick,(plays reciever on the football team) and actually shoots better than marshall; however, I think their weakness is still their guard play.

I saw Huntington play twice last year and never saw anyone 6-9. They reminded me of Illois in the late 80s with Kendall Gill. Everyone looked to be about 6-4 and athletic.

Ok ok they'll be right up there like I thought they'd be. We lose 3 kids, 2 starters. We had 2 seniors graduate. Lose 6'3 starting PF and 5'9 SG, and a 6'3 SF coming off the bench. But we'll bring in a 6'5 PF Duan Wright off the bench into the starting lineup and Josh Ivory will move from an undersized SF back to the 2 Guard. Now the 3 is a mystery. We have several kids who can play the spot and produce well, but who of them will start, I can't say Henry Pryor started a few times last year and led the team in scoring a few times so he can come in, we've got a few sophomores and in a year with so many seniors, Smith usually likes to start one underclassmen so he can learn from the seniors to take charge for the next few years, aka Markel Brown in 2008, and Troy Jones, who's a 4th year starter. So we'll see, we'll be good, I've heard and seen good results over the summer. We won our division at GASO and beat a few All Star teams up at Oklahoma State, so we should be ready.

Far as I know, Ok State looked at him and liked him when we played at their camp this summer but since its been nothing from anyone as far as I know, but you're right, kid can play and if he improves on what he did last year, he can definitely show he can play with anybody.

butch may try and place him at a juco somewhere nearby. i think keiton page is a senior and they've got another young guy who they're trying to develop. i know they were after dylan talley as well, trying to upgrade that position.

Okie State already has Phil Forte committed, who is a Keiton Page clone, but a better shoot. I doubt they will be after any other tiny point guards.

I could see him at La. Tech or Northwestern St.

Personally, I'd like to see Dee, Troy and Josh all go somewhere like Tech or Northwestern...I think with other recruited talent they have the urge to win and could do some damage.

yeah i meant best case for wagner, maybe that happens but probably unlikely. him and troy would be nice signings for tech.

I wonder if Trent told Felix about stringer moving to the wing And if that would have helped in his recruiting?

word is that eddie has looked good shooting the ball and passing it. defensively, they'll likely play more zone when he's out there. from an offensive standpoint the move makes a lot more sense than trying to put courtney there like they did last season.

I doubt Stringer had any affect on Felix's decision. Hickey, on the other hand ...

probably not hickey either. this is not addressed to you bubba. you can't make a player stay in state. if texas was his dream school with an offer on the table its a no brainer for him. they have been successful putting and helping point guards get to the league. dj a couple of years ago and cory joseph this past draft. both first round picks. not counting other positions over the years.

St. Aug's coach was quoted in a story in the spring that he and Felix were disappointed LSU had signed Hickey, since the two are similar.

EDDIE who? are you kidding me he is and never will be an SEC caliber player, if we are depending on Eddie Ludwig we are in serious trouble. Hopefully we do not have to play zone defense this year....unless TJ's new recruits are the same as his previous ones.

lsu still needs to recruit and sign a pg for next season. hickey will be the only returning player at that position (especially with stringer moved to sg). texas brought in 2 freshman point guards for this season. the depth chart at lsu guarantees playing time next season.

I agree, just relaying what the coach said.
