No one recently committed to OSU. So, what happened?
Who suddenly got the boost? Who went down in the ranking?

No worries. We'll add Ojulari this Friday and be back ahead.

I saw it too but held back from starting a thread because we have a monster class right now and percentage points mean nothing at this point.

Rivals finally updated their rankings to reflect Clemson's class being out of this world. That was expected.

Regardless, I love our class -- particularly the LBs and WRs, as well as the geographic diversity of it all.

It means nothing at this point. Yet, I don't get so many downvotes on a question.

I understand Clemson just won their 2nd natty in 4 years and smoked Alabama. Nobody has put together a class like they are this year how does that not throw up red flags to the ncaa.

Clemson has never in their history been able to recruit anything close to this. Paul had a point it's in the middle of nowhere, podunk comes to mind.

It’s the automatic response from those who think they could have asked it in a better way. These yahoos downvote when people ask for prayers because their puppy died. Don’t try to understand, it’s wasted time.

Just watched BJ Ojulari's highlights. WANT. Is he expected to commit to us on Friday? I know crystal ball picks aren't every everything, but not a single one for LSU.

Paul seemed fine when Bama was doing that every year for the past decade, and I wouldn't consider Tuscaloosa some metropolis itself.

Anyway, as said earlier, the top 4-5 classes (UGA will be there) seem to be separating themselves a bit more this year than in the past. May be a trend, or just a one year blip

Yep. Top 5 will be Bama, Clemson, Georgia, LSU, and Ohio State in some form or fashion.

LSU will jump to #2 temporarily after this weekend (Moore and Ojulari commitments).

That will put LSU at 24 with at least 3 other kids they really want.

I'm still wondering about the Gaye commitment.

I'd really like the OT from FL and SVP.

Not sure how the #'s will work themselves out this year, even the "low rated" guys are still studs and I think we got a ton of Diamond in the rough grabs with Jalen Lee, Patrick Jenkins and Eric Taylor <-- not sure if he is a low rated guy but Bama passed on him in their own backyard

We have 22 commits with a 92.53 avg.

OSU has 22 commits with a 92.08 avg.

Plus we have more 4 stars and the same amount of 5 stars.

Doesn't make sense

Their 4 and 5 stars are slightly higher rated than our 4 and 5 stars, but our 3 stars are rated higher than their 3 stars. The 4 and 5 stars have more of an impact on the ranking than the 3 stars

The 247 class rankings are pretty heavily weighted toward the top of the class. So the highest-rated recruit in a class has a huge affect on their rank, while the 25th-rated recruit barely moves the needle.

In other words, in this simplified scenario:

School A top 5 recruits rated .92, .91, .90, .89, and .88
School B top 5 recruits rated .94, .92, .90, .88, and .86

Both schools have an average recruit rating of .90, but school B will have a higher class ranking because their top 3 are better than school A’s top 3. At least that’s the simplified way to explain it.

They rank the classes this way because your top 5 recruits are likely to see more playing time over 3-4 years (and therefore contribute more to the team’s performance) than the bottom 5 recruits.

To look at the real world example, here are the 247 composite ratings for the top 10 recruits for both schools:

LSU / OSU
0.9940 / 0.9985
0.9905 / 0.9963
0.9791 / 0.9771
0.9781 / 0.9701
0.9762 / 0.9698
0.9723 / 0.9653
0.9519 / 0.9651
0.9384 / 0.9645
0.9378 / 0.9431
0.9349 / 0.9332

They eased into top recruiting by winning. It wasn’t overnight success like at ole miss. Deseaun Watson made that program. Not saying tney don’t bend rules but we’re n the Sec so glass house kinda thing to pointy fingers imo

I am very close to a few board members at a few colleges in the country “Clemson & Texas” are two of them! I told people that a board member had told me flat out that no matter what LSU offered it would never be enough! Their new AD had been given an open checkbook with any number “needed” to sign Herman. The “needed” meaning they knew who their only competition was and knew LSU could only offer so much and whatever that number was UT could outbid it. Anyway he guaranteed that LSU would not sign Herman and he was right. Now people said on my post after the fact, that everyone knew that! Maybe so but I was the first person on this board to put my name behind it on this site before it went down.

Why I mention that is my buddy at Clemson has flat out stated numerous times when we are drinking together that Clemson cheats and their system is so full proof that they have been able to outbid others without fear of being caught, unless one of the players speak up. He bragged “lol” about how Clemson was steeped in a long history of cheating scandals and was proud of it. He said all those failures and getting caught actually made them better at cheating because they needed to hide it better. They go by, you gotta cheat if you want to compete, philosophy there he said!

I know I believe him!

And NO he hasn’t told me their system yet but every time I get him drunk I ask him and I won’t stop until he finally tells me!

This post will get whacked anyway so flame away! Haha
