This guy is really starting to get some attention. Supposedly he is at the top of Ohio State's board and now bama and LSU are calling. Big guy at 6'2" 225 lbs. What do you guys think about him?

He's really good.
He said he's going to check LSU out. Let's see what he thinks. He would make the LB class scary.

Gumps seem confident they will land him... Capstone should be by sometime soon.

Tremendous prospect and I would love to have him

OSU wants him bad and he likes them but strong word on the street is that Bama leads big right now.Whether we like it or not we have to get used to Bama being right in the thick of things with major national prospects. With Saban they can get guys that we can't but that also means that some kids in the southeast will be more available for us.We'll be fine but have to not overreact to Bama getting guys that will have all the publicity(some will be great players and deserve it but a lot will not)and the flashy rankings.as long as we continue to get good football players with some stars thrown in we'll be right where we want to be on the field.

I'm here.

As for DePriest, some Ohio State boards say they think Alabama leads, but I can't see him leaving the state in the end. I'm more confident about Lawrence Thomas from Detroit. But either would be icing on the cake of a great LB class for Alabama, if they do somehow sign with Alabama.

Really ?

I figured bama had a better chance at De Priest.

I just don't see either leaving the north, but if one did I think it would be DePriest.

We'll see once the summer camps get underway. If DePriest visits, I'll feel more confident. I just think it's easier to get a kid out of Michigan than Ohio, save for Hicks signing with Texas in the 2010 class.

We got Ware and Ohio state really didn't close out well last year.

However I agree it will be easier to get a kid out of Michigan

LB depth may still be a problem for a kid coming to OSU; Sabino and Dorian Bell were both 5* kids who haven't seen the field much at all yet. I'd say OSU has something like 8 4 and 5* guys at the LB position.

However, we'll take 1 more

Hasn't Bama signed six or seven five star and four star linebackers the past few years?

I have heard he likes bama a lot but I wouldn't say we have a significant lead or anything. This one could go any direction still its really early. But right now it looks like bama and OSU leave. I could see Tressel really concentrating on in state kids this year after how badly they did in Ohio in this last recruiting class.

We only signed two LBs in the 2010 class. All starters for 2010 for be junior or senior. A lot of the depth is getting older too. Alabama will sign four LBs in 2011. Remember we run a 3-4, so more LBs are needed.
