I doubt we'd give a release for LSU but even if we did he'd have to sit out 2 years. Intraconference transfers just don't happen

LSU knew that unless they met in the championship game that there was no chance of them meeting. If he were transferring to a West team or one of the cross-schedule teams, it probably wouldn't have happened.

Sumlin gave him an unconditional release and he only has to sit our one year. I don't see how making a push could hurt. He had almost twice as much offense as both our QBs combined and only played in like 8 games.

Sumlin mentioned that he is not keen on intraconference transfers at QB.
I cannot remember which QB (Davis, Showers, Matthews), but he doesn't even care for a team that he will play getting his QB. But never say never.
