From an interview this afternoon, on the importance to him of staying in his home state:
"It was very important," Johnson said. "LSU has a lot to offer, but I've always been a guy who took pride in the state of Mississippi. If I were to go to LSU and then move on and go pro, people would always say, 'There's C.J. Johnson from LSU.' Mississippi wouldn't get any credit. Playing for Mississippi is really something that's always been a big thing for me."
Come on this is a crock of shite and you know it. It's like saying he would be perfectly content to play at USM because it was in Mississippi.

Should be even better.
Why would you want him to go else where, just to get your kicks? I believe he will go to an instate school but I "hope" that he comes to LSU.

Jernigan is unlikely but our class is very good so not overly concerned if we strikeout in the end.

So did he cancel the visit to BR this weekend?

Who said they wanted him to go elsewhere?

I can't fault the guy...he loves his home state. This is how he feels.
Some people just can't get this... I don't get it.
So he picked Ole Miss over MSU... MSU has had what, 1 good season in the past decade? And even that was worse than either of Ole Miss' previous two years...

I would understand it had his recent change not occurred. When you're in Mississippi, you're either repping State of Ole Miss. That sales tactic makes more sense to me at LSU or Texas, or Georgia or maybe Alabama to a lesser extent. But recent events make me shake my head a bit.

Guys we all knew it was over when nuttsack told him "son,I got catfish THIS big in that pond"
Posted on 1/25/11 at 10:51 pm to dahekler
I knew it was over when he bought Nutt's selling tool that he could be Cam Newton and OM was AU.
One of the more retarded "sales pitches" but what are you going to do. I really wanted CJ but we'll be okay.

from a reliable source, supposedly nutt gave him an ultamatum. If he visited LSU, his scholarship from ole miss would be pulled.

I can totally believe this! If this is the case, then he really wanted to go to Ole Miss. Because, if was really wavering and not sure, he would have told Nutt to kiss his arse.
