I don't think they are calling him an idiot for staying home.
Sure they are...

hey are questioning whether Ole Miss is really home and choosing that school over LSU for a plethora of reasons that even an objective observer would say favors the Tigers.
There's nothing really objective about a bunch of LSU fans on an LSU message board after they've lost a recruit they desperately want and need.
Ole Miss has finished ahead of LSU 2 of the last three years in the West.
They've beaten LSU twice and took them to the limit with a vastly shittier team.
They also can boast to having the league's premier MLB right now.
For me, of course LSU is a no brainer, but for a kid from Mississippi... who's friends are all going to the same school... Ole Miss makes a shite ton of sense.

Patrick Willis disagrees.
Did Patrick play for a national championship team?
Did Patrick play for an SEC title team?
Did Patrick play for an SEC West championship team?
No. That he's in the NFL has more to do with his freakish talent than anything to do with Ole Miss. Ben Roethlisberger is a Super Bowl QB. Maybe that means all midwestern QB prospects should eschew Notre Dame, Ohio State and Michigan in favor of Miami-Ohio by that rationale.

being comfortable at home is more important to him than playing for national titles.
that actually says a lot about his character.
I just dont see how he can switch between in-state rivals like he did. Thats the odd part for me.

Who was talking crap about Ole Miss all year, was recruiting kids to MSU, and all of a sudden is signing with Ole Miss? That Ben Franklin is doing a great job at Ole Miss
And quit with the Patrick Willis crap. This kid is nowhere close to the freak that Willis is, nor will most be for a long time

Did going to Ole Miss hurt his chances of going to the League? That's what I'm saying.

land Rasco and maybe Mickey and call it a class I guess
About 117 other schools would trade thier class for that one.

Willis could have gone to Louisiana Tech and still be as good in the NFL as he is now

Don't disagree necessarily. But I do think that LSU is a better fit for him even if I take off purple and gold glasses.
People aren't saying he is dumb for wanting to stay home. What they are reacting to is that "home" is really MSU. Oxford is as far away as Baton Rouge for this kid. So if you don't buy the "I want to stay home" line, and you just are reacting to the situation, LSU is the better choice.

Johnson would have been great but nobody thought we even had a chance until a month ago when he dropped MSU. I didn't really think we had too much of a shot for awhile now but that didn't mean I didn't have hope.
I don't expect anything to happen on the Jernigan front but then I've said that before (Ego, Montgomery, etc.). Im certainly not getting my hopes up.
I'll be ecstatic when we add Rasco and call it a day.
Unless something happens on the greyshirt front.
Still a phenomenal class any way you split it.

Exactly, I held out hope for about 2 days, and then it was apparent the writing was on the wall...

I hope Rasco is it... and then maybe Briggs will take a greyshirt.
No one else worth a scholarship IMO.

We won't care, we are LSU and we have backups that were all Americans. We will survive and thrive. Anyone who doesn't have the balls to compete every day should go to an Ole Miss type team.
You either want to be on the #1 defense in the #1 division of the #1 conference in America, or you go elsewhere to get early playing time.

Winning isn't important to him apparently and if he went because Nutt told him "We're the next Auburn" then he's just not smart at all to believe that.

Although I do not have my hopes up for it he is the only high caliber guy LSU might still have a chance with.
If I had to place a bet on it I think he is FSU though. Hope I am wrong.
