I know Dutton Wall personally and he coached at Welsh H.S. for a bunch of years and he has nothing but good things to say about the town. He's retired and back in Ville Platte, but he told me he really enjoyed his years there and had great things to say about the town.

My grandfather lived for a period in the house that the Earles were murdered in. The house is no longer there.
A USL professor wrote a research article several years ago on the murders. I wish that I could find more info.
