It isn't about being a scrub or anyone calling him that. You need another QB with some game experience. Just look at the FSU situation 13-0 out of playoffs because QB went down. If Nuss get concussed and have to sit a game or miss some time due to any injury you basically done for. You can not neglect the position with qb on roster behind him with no game experience. All the QBs they reached out to had a few games started. Nuss should win out easy being in system for 2yrs and having some chemistry with receivers.

The immediate panic of thinking Nuss is just some scrub is wild. Why is everyone so convinced this guy can't play all of a sudden?

This was discussed on the last Cover 3 podcast. A lot of coaches are going to frick themselves over window shopping for QBs looking for “certainty” in the portal, rather than developing what they have, which may be better in the long run.

If there was a guy with starting experience, good numbers and real upside who wasn’t searching for a huge bag up front and the keys handed to him, fine. But good luck finding that guy in this current portal class. They all have limitations or baggage. And Cam Ward is not the second coming like everyone seems to think, but he’s going to get paid like it because he’s by far the best of a mediocre portal QB class.

If Nuss ain’t the man then he ain’t the man He hasn’t earned the right to not have to compete for the starting job

The problem is bringing someone in who is actually WILLING to compete for a job themselves and doesn’t cost a fortune. Our portal NIL spending needs to be focused on the defense.

I think we either go big for a DT like Murphy

How many times will it fricking take before some of you understand that Murphy IS NOT A DUAL THREAT QB? He’s not even that good of a pocket passer today based on his starts this season.

We need one to be a backup for this year and that is not an easy problem so solve. No many will want to transfer for an uphill battle to start. There is a 40-50 percent chance a starting QB will get hurt for at least a game on any given year. I don't think the staff wants to roll with Collins if this happens. This is where Howard screwed us badly.
