Funny you should mention JH. I was looking at some LSU artwork when I was making my new sig, saw a pic of Jacob Hester and his wife Katie at Randy Caminita's web site:

As the first response you got indicates, most will scoff at the idea that Hester could have had any degree of "role" in Little River's commitment to us.

Lest you feel alone, I had already mulled this over in my own mind, as 2 guys playing in the same backfield with lots of time spent together in practices certainly engage in conversations other than their playbooks.

Obviously, it's extremely unlikely Hester ever initiated any such discussion. However, it is not a stretch at all to think that Rivers, who you know communicates with his own brother and their father/coach frequently, particularly in the off-season, was fully aware of his brother's recruiting process and who the finalists were, and thus brought the subject up himself informally. Having a Miles-era Tiger right in his own backfield could easily lead to informal questions about Hester's personal experience at LSU, about the the coaching staff and about the LSU campus environment. And then pass on anything that he might consider noteworthy to his brother, who I'm sure would listen to his successful sibling.

So not saying Hester in any way even discussed the situation with his teammate, or if he did whether any information he shared was passed on to the younger brother, much less have been a deciding factor. But to dismiss the possibility that it COULD have happened, even if only a very minor consideration in the final decision, is a stretch.

JH may have even spoken to lil Rivers to answer any questions he had. Or is this a violation?

I heard JH went to the Rivers' family home for supper but they were low on food so JH multiplied loaves of bread and fish and fed the entire clan. Pretty good for a 2 star with a Texas Longhorns tattoo.

Well when Reggie Bush did it with Joe McKnight it was the worst violation in NCAA history.

Nope, and I wasn't suggesting it was at all.
