He's clearly suggesting that if LSU "cooled" it would be due to improprieties and messiness with Herron's HS coach, and nothing to do with his talent.

Memphs I know you had said you thought it was 50/50 with Herron the other day. Do you still think it is that tight? Man I just can't imagine Herron flipping after one visit. We talking about 2 days at a school and then deciding to got there. He has been to LSU numerous times and is friends with a lot of the committs and close to the coaches. It just seems like a really big decision to make after a 48 hour visit. Then there is the question why flip? What does he gain by going to Texas that LSU doesn't offer? Has he ever even camped at Texas or been there any other time than this visit?

It's not what LSU doesn't offer, but his HS coach is pro porter, and most of these kids look to their HS coach for guidance in the recruiting process.

My take on Herron....Piecing things together from pay sites & insiders:
-Porter gets Herron to visit without Moms consent
-Herron enjoys trip, and now "has things to think about"
-18 year old kid by himself on this trip and I'm sure they did a number on him with spin tactics
-Mom is still all LSU, and is not happy that Porter is trying to flip him without her consent
-LSU coaches knew, albeit last minute about the visit...they are gonna fix the situation
-in the end Herron will be a Tiger with Momma in LSU's corner
-Porter gets Herron to visit without Moms consent

You can have all the stars in the world, if eligibility is in question (not saying it is, but NCAA is talking to a Herrons coach about a former player who is currently in-eligible at Auburn) those stars don't mean much.
