Was there a star system in 2001? I know there wasn't one in 1998.
Yes, Rivals and the star system was definitely around in 2001 and maybe a year or two before that.

I took a few minutes and looking back to only 2000 , when 247 sports began.
2011
1.La el Collins
2.Anthony Johnson
3.Jarvis Landry

2014
1.Leonard Fournette—-no.1 overall
2.Cam Robinson —-booo Bama
3.Speedy Noil———booo A&M
4.Malachi Dupre
Note that Gerald Willis who went for the Honey Chicken was the highest 4 star that year, one person from 5 star

Obviously this year has 3, and the most 4-5 stars in 1 year @ 14

Next year already has 3 Five Stars
1.Arch Manning
2.Shelton Sampson Jr.
3.Jaiden Ausberry

And once again 14 4-5 stars

Da boot is giving us a great backbone to Championships. I personally think we should only devoutly recruit—Texas, La. Miss.Georgia, Florida. Stop using resources in places like out west and North of Georgia, unless a kid reaches out to us or obvious ties to La.

Just my 2 cents

Willis went to Florida.

Marvin Wilson (from Texas) went to FSU for the
Honey Chicken.

You are correct, sir.
There was actually several years that produced no 5 stars in La.
Now we have a fit if we loose 1 top 10 La. kid to out of state team, take a look back there were quite a few years where we lost more than we signed of La. top 10
Times have changed.
