Did I miss something (other than the offer/non-offer miscommunication with the coaches)? I was under the impression that Raven would soon receive a committable offer to LSU -- was that incorrect?

I think he will as soon as they can evaluate him in game action. Not sure when the HS season starts but it shouldn't be too long after that when they decide if or if not they will offer.

He wont receive an offer, if any, until after a couple of games into his high school season and the coaches are able to evaluate him.

IMO, if he does commit to Ole Piss, he will switch to us if/when offered, unless he was really pissed about not having a commitable offer yet.

Well hopefully we get Rasco and MJ to go along with Ely/Brissett, maybe even Rivers. Would everyone be satisfied if we got Ely and Oliver?

I think Raven will get his offer during the season.Never take what the Weekly Whispers says too seriously.They are going almost entirely on heresay or what a specific person says.Unless Raven has been told in the last week that we are full at DB then he has no plans to commit this soon.He knows his offer is coming,he just has to be patient.
