I get why Bama and Auburn played so many freshmen during Saban and Chizik's first year since the teams they inherited were so bad.
We have a great team minus a top QB and we seem to be playing many of our top Freshmen Recruits. Don't we do this more then any other team in the SEC? Seems like it to me. And our young guys are making some great plays!

Wow! What a difference a year makes. The question used to be "Why doesn't Miles play freshmen?"

Yes everyone questions all of Miles decisions. Why arent we playing more freshman, why did he burn that redshirt. He has such a great feel for what needs to be done. I think Stamply has played so much better since he burned Copelands redshirt and put him at fullback. It was needed for the betterment of the team and this is a team sport. Our defense is just gonna be sick for the next several years.

Definitely noticed that this year. It was visibly obvious at Saturday's game, as the Bama defense seemed to struggle adjusting to the various speeds/quickness of the myriad of different backs and receivers we used. At least offensively, some of this change might be attributable to Gonzo, as we saw this very same approach from Florida ball clubs in recent years. I don't see a down side to it; 1)it creates depth. 2) it allows more players to stay active and involved in preparation. 3)it dispels any ability for other teams to negatively recruit against Miles' past bouts with senioritis.

I'm glad we are playing so many young guys.Got to get the best talent on the field. As far as the most, considering true and redshirt freshmen,I believe Florida has played more than any team in the country.

I'm also extremely excited about this defense for the next few years. The amount of freshmen and sophomore talent contributing is tremendous. However, we will be losing one of the greatest team leaders, on-field generals, and pure motivators that we've had in recent memory in KS11, not to mention the Nevistator, and PP7... Those are going to be some HUGE shoes to fill, and it will be interesting to see who will step up and take control next season and beyond...

We only have a couple guys that are NOT redshirting this year. Guys like Copeland, Muncie, and Maclin have all burned their redshirt even though they have barely played this year.

Technically they could redshirt next year if they still dont hit the depth chart, but I wouldn't expect it.
