No way this is the story. I was always under the impression it was based off of moving him to DE in the NCAA video game. He was the best defensive player on the game if you did so and it was a meme throughout all NCAA forums/message boards.

A three-star in On3’s class of 2023 rankings, DK Kency rushed for 1,147 yards and 14 touchdowns during his senior season at Archbishop Shaw High School in Marrero, Louisana.

Someone was talking about speed being the most sought after stat for defensive ends, so, of course, someone in the rant suggested playing Trindon Holliday at DE. The idea kind of took on a life of it's own.
