The chest? I don't get it.
I wasn't there ... but I'm fairly certain he was using "chest" as an alternative to saying, "he didn't have the BALLS.... "... but that's just me....

He could have said "intestinal fortitude" I suppose... but then he would have had to explain it....

so why is it on national news like ESPN then? the clip ESPN had showed nothing about Les talking about Liggins, just about the chest thing with Kiel.
Duh? That's my point exactly. Here's a video of the comments in context.
Here's the whole commentary. You be the judge.

Yes, I get your point. I was fired up to watch that whole thing, but you had to know that ESPN would show just the part that is controversial. Again, I hope I am wrong, but the press that ESPN is showing to the nation may give problems to this program.

Righteoustiger=Bleeding heart liberal right.
The kid didn't have the balls to call coach and tell him he wasn't coming. All the while LSU and another kid that wants to attend LSU is getting screwed out of that opportunity.
Poor MR KEIL is that better? A little sign of respect. I called him Mr.

Negative publicity - Yes
Problems - Doubtful
Why do you think they edited out the last 7 seconds of CLM's comments? Because without it the video takes on a whole different meaning - the one they are trying to portray.
This too shall pass

thanks for the link.... yes that clearly puts it in context... it was a set up of what a great leader and what courage it took for Liggins to declare that he was going to LSU ... in OM's home town..... "I like his style".
While sound bites will make it a slam on Keil... it was in the context of a complement to Liggins.
But in fairness... I think Les was letting out a little frustration with recruits committing and crapping on LSU after LSU held spots to accomodate them... in the end LSU not only the 2 that "decommitted" or "flipped" but had the additional "casualty" of Miller who was all LSU if we had the Early Enrollee spot. Had Keil never taken up that spot.... or at least changed his mind before the day school was to start... we would not have been hurt.
IMO --- Mile's comment was not inappropriate in any way... and was intended as a huge complement to Liggins.

What's the deal with the guy behind Miles in the purple shirt? "Fidgety" would be an understatement.
ETA: I, for one, Kige his comments on Kiel

Says the guy who didn't know what he meant by "chest". Guts, heart, balls, chest - they're all metaphors. Follow? Kiel does actually have a heart, biologically speaking.

I love hearing this from Les. Wish he'd have made a remark at Davis as well. Be unethical a little bit damn it.

And in fairness who can blame him, especially after just being bagged on by Torshiroooooo! (And probably after having been up all night working the recruits to the finish line)
Does Les wish he could put this genie back in the bottle? Probably. Will he lose a second's sleep over it - doubtful.

Even though it won't happen (judging by Notre Dame's lack of success), we likely won't ever play Notre Dame, but I would love to see us play them with Kiel at the helm.
Miles would tell Chavis to blitz every single play.
Kid deserved it and I applaud Miles for showing his lesticles once again and putting him in his place

Ummm...No
The end of the Reveille video: "If your family wants to watch you play football, you need to come to Tiger Stadium and play your arse off."

no one is saying GK couldn't change his mind.
His lack of character showed when we found out about the change when he just didn't show up for school.
Instead of having the chest to call and tell the coaches of his decision.
His lack of chest and delay in notifying cost us a recruit cause we were saving the EE schcolly for GK. Miller left cause he didn't have it.

That's hardly why he won't lose sleep over it. Money does not destroy human emotions.

Great. Awesome. But the ESPN coverage does not show that part.
