i'm wondering if john williams ever makes the move to RB as a speedster if calhoun doesn't get moved

Fingers crossed.

Apparently Williams was VERY impressive running scout team QB in prep for the bowl.

after this year, we will be without pratt/michael coming this year

ridley, ford, and (possibly) lache for 2010. that's scary

and don't bring up murphy. he has pretty much never shown that he's a football player in his 3 years at LSU

yes, what about this post would make you think i was talking about guys playing running back?

i was VERY disappointed that we didn't get to see this offense more this year

disappointed isn't the word...it downright pissed me off

and you know this from the 10 carries he's had in three years? (exaggeration of course, but just making a point) he's hardly had a chance. a carry here, a carry there. has even carried the ball twice in a row?

no reason not to let Calhoun play RB

man, I'm just not impressed with his prospects as a RB in the SEC. Good athlete, but I don't think so

if we get Ford this year, Lache next year (which is an obvious possibility), and Hilliard the year after.. you can't ask for more than that

in 2010 we'll still have Ridley, Murphy and Ford and potentially Lache ..not terrible

who knows what the offensive system is by then anyway.. if Crowton opens it up we may not have as much need for deep RBs

when have you ever seen murphy playing in a real game and you thought, "man, that guy looks like a great RB?"

we've seen it with ridley in limited carries

we've seen it with keiland in limited (post 2006) carries

traditional option

our coaches had months knowing our QBs would be young and shitty, so they had time to implement a high school offense that likely most of our offensive guys had played before

I just refuse to be worried about the RB position. We've recruited it well for the past 10 years or so... seems like good ones always pop up in Louisiana.

i'm not "Worried" about the RB position, but with keiland/scott/murphy getting up there, we haven't really replaced them (Due to depth). you can't say that we are deep at RB going into 2010 without pratt or michael

because he is more than a RB... as a matter of fact he played far more on coverage teams in 07 and played well IMO

to say he's not a good football player isn't accurate...to say he is not a great runner is probably more accurate

Hmm, yeah, I don't know what I think of that.

I like the idea in principle, but do you take the risk of ruffling several scholarship players, plus future recruits feathers for that?

Plus, as bad as Lee was at times, I don't see how they could "know" he would not improve throughout the year and continue to make throws into bad coverage etc.

Plus if we switch to option, that's a year gone off the time it takes to prepare J Lee, JJ etc.

I think we are putting too much stock in Ford

especially since he has had injury issues in the past

not an every down RB, Derbs. But we can't have all 230 lb slow running backs.

Do you ever get off TD or do you just hang around waiting for a reason to pump KW sunshine up everyone's butt?

I'm not saying Murphy is Adrian Peterson or even Keiland Williams for that matter. I'm just saying I'd like to see him carry the ball for two or three drives before crucifying him.

SFP, we all know KW is a stud. You don't have to tell us in every thread ever created.

yeah, none of our backs are allowed to get into a rhythm of the game and that is a little mismanagement IMO

Murphy - like all of our RBs - struggled when we became NO threat at passing the ball
