It seems like we'll take around 5 DLineman this cycle. We have offers out to a bunch of DEs and two DTs. There are also a number of instate lineman to keep an eye on.

In state prospects:
Gerald Willis, DL, offered
Davon Godchaux, DE
Gerrald McDowell, DT
Joyan Williams, DT
Tay Thibodeaux, DL
Deldrick Canty, DT
Jalen Graves, DT
OJ Smith, DT

Godchaux seems destined for an offer as long as he gets his academics in order. McDowell is also a good candidate to fill one of the tackle spots. Who else do y'all see as some of the top DL prospects in the state and could fight for an offer this summer of later in the cycle?

OOS DE:
Deondre Clark
Myles Garrett
Lorenzo Clark
Deshawn Hand
Derick Roberson
Rashawn Shaw
Sharieff Rhaheed
Solomon Thomas
Andrew Williams
Chad Thomas
Rashaan Evans
Justin Tornton
Blake McClain

Some OOS DE targets without offers include:
Jarrett Johnson
Duncan Douglas

And the two DT with offers are both from OOS. Theres also the possibility a DE commit could bulk up and slide inside.
Travonte Valentine
Khairi Clark

Who do y'all see filling out the class? Gerald Willis seems to be the cornerstone to the DL, hes a top prospect and right in our own backyard, hopefully we can lock him up. What OOS targets have legit interest and are realistic options?

I think Joyan Williams gets an offer.

Hopefully Brick can make a push for Elisha Shaw / Khairi Clark / Dontavius Russell, etc.

Would love to haul in a big time DT in this class.

Things are looking good for the tigers and Deondre clark. I'd love to snag Myles garrett as well from texas.

Yeah. I don't think we get a surprise the same way we did signing day this year, though - I think we'll eventually go after a 4th/5th guy and have them in the fold by bowl season, like usual.

With Godchaux, we need to make sure if doesn't qualify here, he doesn't magically qualify at Gumpaloosa or Oxford.

Willis, Godchaux, Deondre Clark, and McDowell are the must have D line players for LSU.

willis, clark are no brainers.

goudchaux (if his grades improve QUICKLY, don't
see us saving a spot for him.

oos stud, think gilmore, herron.

I don't think we take 5 and thus McDowell not in.

Jarrett Johnson and Duncan Douglas are two Texas guys, neither have offers.
Do y'all know anything about them?
They have shown some interest IIRC, but havent been offered yet. A couple players to keep an eye on...seem like possibly more realistic options than some of the other offered OOS talent.

Getting Willis and Clark would be huge gets for this class...they could both play anywhere on the line if needed.

DE and DT are positions where the board is a little cluttered with a lot of unknowns. Lots of guys to potentially get excited about but few that can for sure be seen as sure takes. I see 5-6 total with DT being the major priority.

Early prediction

Willis-DE with DT possible down the road.
Clark-DE
Godchaux-DE imo but he could grow to play inside
McDowell-DT think he puts on enough weight for our staff to jump on him.

After that I really have no clue. Think we shoot for the moon with the DT spots and 1 DE spot then if needed come back to the instate kids unless someone blows the staff away at camp.

I think he ultimately ends up inside.
