The fact that former powerhouses Oklahoma and LSU are having to try to "lure" kids from damn A&M is a sad commentary on how far our programs have fallen.

I don't think that's the case. We had Davis and Hunter so we weren't really going after Fobbs. Foobs commits to aTm who is recruiting him hard. Poof, No Davis, no Hunter for LSU so we have a hole to fill and are trying to raid other teams recruiting class which is harder to do.
Basically, we are trying to find a prom date the day before the Prom. Not that easy to do.

That and A&M has great facilities, fan base, etc. It's not like you losing a recruit to Tulane. A&M is in the same "sleeping giant" state as LSU was pre-Saban. Fertile recruiting grounds, rabid (although at times misguided) fan base, excellent facilities and poor coaching hires..

A&M may be a notch, or half notch ahead of Tulane, but I can assure you Fobbs obviously doesn't have "playing in a national championship game" on his list of things to do while in college!

Dude, come on. A&M is on the same level as Ole Miss, Arky, Ok St, etc. No way is it on Tulane's level.

Well, that's what I said. They are a notch above Tulane, but will never be an elite team like LSU, Bama or Florida. We should not be having to beg Louisiana kids to leave A&M. I can understand having to beg a Louisiana kid to decommit from Bama or Florida.

wow, such short term memory

you do realize that tamu used to pwn lsu on a regular basis before saban back when we played them yearly

lsu fans making fun of tamu are just dumb bc we used to be SHITTIER than they ever have been. program strengths usually go in cycles. florida used to suck, ou used to suck. dont be ignorant

its obvious to the followers of football that tamu is on the up and up, and this class proves it

All true.
Some of A&M's best teams had key players that came come from the state next door.

The nail in A&M's coffin in the last decade has been consistency in coaching. We are now on our 3rd head coach and 5th DC in the last 8 years. You just can not sustain or build anything with that kind of turnover.
