yeah, definitely older than 14 years.

Founded in 1974 as a small school primarily servicing the church it is affiliated with.

Teurlings (1955) and AES (1959) are older by more than decade, but I do think LCA the oldest non-denominational.

You'll also have to define the Lafayette area, as well. There are also several in the surrounding area, all Catholic. Opelousas Catholic(1971), Catholic NI (1918), VC(1967), with Academy of the Sacred Heart in Grand Coteau (1821) being the oldest private in the area and the second oldest west of the Mississippi (Ursuline (1727) Academy in NOLA is the oldest as well as the oldest Catholic School in America).

That was actually an interesting bit of research.

I must be the only one that doesn’t know what LCA means. Man, the acronyms on this forum kill me.

How long have ya'll been there? My wife works the drop off line for the youngest kids and has for the last 6 years. If he's been there since 1st grade, she probably opened the door for him. My wife is from Arnaudville, as well.

Lafayette Christian Academy. Understandable if you're from another part of the state and don't really follow 1-A high school sports.

LCA. Good people teaching there. Unfortunately, some major sleazeball prosperity preachers are involved.

My wife is an Arnaud from there, most of her family is still there. Her youngest sister is married to a Stelly there as well. We could be almost inlaws

Pastor Jay is an amazing individual. Anyone that says otherwise has absolutely no clue what they are talking about. Great great man.

Anybody know who he is after? Logan Gabriel? Fitzgerald West?

West looks pretty good for a freshman. Moves really well for his size and he still has 3 years to get his legs stronger. This guy is going to be a beast by the time he is a senior, if he keeps working and developing. Could be Louisiana's next 5 star dlineman. Just depends on how much publicity he gets nationally.

Most likely after Trev Faulk. He's the best recruiter in the state right now.

LCA is trying to become the south LA Evangel, using the same formula. Shady religious "leaders" with access to church members with lots of cash. That cash is used to draw kids from 50 miles away for "educational" purposes, of course.
