What was our record from 2005-2007 vs. 2013-2015? Just curious and I'll know I'll get downvoted like crazy but the fact is Les inherited a championship program and championship teams. Did he leave our program in better or worse shape than what it was when he got the job?

Miles record was built largely on the first three years. Beyond that we had one special season

Go check out the rankings the past few years. Florida State constant top 5, Clemson not so much. Clemson in the playoffs, Florida St not really even bowl eligible. Oh yea Tennessee been high up there too, so how is it he is so wrong?

Miles didn’t build that 2011 team that could have been the greatest regular season team of all time?

Yes, Les was a great recruiter, but he aint at LSU anymore. We are riding the O train now, you can quit blowing Les anytime you like.
Can't believe you still having a love affair with Herman, the man didnt want to be at LSU, get over it and move on. He may be the next Urban or Saban, but, he was never coming to LSU. I was hoping he would come, but he didn't. He is having to rebuild UT, LSU doesn't have that problem, except at QB. And, hopefully, we fixed that last season.

Apparently, our coaching staff decided to replenish our trenches, which is just fine with me.

Yes he did. I acknowledged that one special season. Miles did a good job overall. I just happen to think his overall record is skewed by a three year run set up by the previous coach's recruiting.

but those previous recruits have to be coached right? plus he built that 2011 team that is arguably the best team lsu ever had.

He did a good job yes. I just don't think an overall record tells the whole story. Just my opinion

We have always landed high skill guys to give us top class rankings. This class meets our needs as much as any. Very happy with this haul.

Yes those classes that begin to neglect the trenches sometime around 2010 or 2011, and hasn't seen a top 10 finish in final rankings since 2011.

We kinda did need to rebuild the trenches. Also, why does everyone say Texas had no talent. Their last 3 classes were top 25 classes, I believe 2 of them were top 15.

So you would take the Texas class over ours?

Espn has us at #10. If we finish strong like we hope then we could settle nicely into that 7-9 range I'd have to imagine. That'd be perfectly fine especially given the needs were met.

How are rankings done? Are they based solely on star power, or do they take in account your needs at positions filled?

my guess is that you are not savy in the "human nature" arena. and if you think i'm going to like a competing coach that shunned LSU you are one dumb sob.

LSU will sign 3 of the best DBs in America. Texas needed the juco OT that we got. Their board is inexcusably light on lineman given their situation. Poor roster management there on this class. Great group of DBs and receivers. Looks great on paper but they're gonna get pushed around up front again and their fans know it

What do the rankings mean expert? Not a damn thing. You have no clue how anyone will do I need college. But then again, you think you know everything.

Rankings do mean something but isn't the the 100% deciding factor.
