How do these guys compare coming out of high school?
Posted on 12/29/08 at 4:14 pm to zzemme
Chad was one in a million in HS.

Jones was an ATH. Safety/LB.
Loston is pure safety.

Saw Chad play in 4 games his senior year. He was great, but not "one in a million"

Chad was definitely the better athlete, but Craig might be the more polished safety.

I always thought of Chad Jones as a big SS or a Rover, but I think Loston is more of a pure, ball-hawking type of FS...

I really hope loston can make a bigger impact than chad has

Chad had one hell of a freshman year. He should be back to form next season.

Chad better do a 180 or he'll be a bigger bust than Keiland Williams
Posted on 12/29/08 at 4:52 pm to H-Town Tiger 98
i dont think keiland is a bust, just missused. al woods is a bust IMO

Keiland is a bust. A 5 star player who cannot start in 3 seasons. He's got tremendous talent but likes to pussyfoot too much.
Al Woods is a bigger bust though, I agree.

I hope he's that good, but I doubt it.

It's anyone's guess or opinion about how they compare. So far after 2 years Jones hasen't come close to touching the surface of his potential and ability as a football player. So far he has underachieved and is overrated thus far but that can change very quickly with a new D Coordinator and a better DB coach and a better attitude and work ethic in the off season to be the best player he can be, only He (Chad) controls that. I hope he lives up to his potential and is an All American and Thorpe award winner before leaving LSU. Seems like just in my opinion only, that Loston has had a little more fan fare from the football side of things because he was committed to 2 other schools before his major interest and possibly leaning to LSU. Until he actually signs with LSU and gets on the field I think it's un fair to really compare the 2 of them with an accurate assessment.

if chad reaches his full potential he would be a star

But when he does make good plays, he gets punished by riding the bench.
And as for Woods, he may be a bust, but he'll be a better fit in a 3-4 Defense in the NFL.

I agree but he has come no where close to that yet in his 1st 2 years here at LSU. He has 2 years left to try.
