I agree. I remember seeing La. being the number 1 state in the U.S. for Div 1 college football signees per capita, a few years back. Then they had the number Texas sent overall and it was like 6 times as many.

It's always good to hear home grown kids having success wherever they end up. I hope he does well. Between Pelini coaching and recruiting some Louisiana guys, I'm interested to see some Husker games in the near future. I think he may end up getting one or two out of LA every year.

I'd like to see PJ and Khiry Cooper both get some PT and contribute this season.

Yea, its nice to see one of our former coaches not go to a rival or conference school, I can actually pull for the guy to succeed. and Ive never had a dislike for Nebraska growing up so if possible Id like to see the kids that dont get the LSU offer to go play for Pelini and his black shirt defense.

How sweet would that be if LA played a big part in resurrecting that defense and football program as a whole?!

Sentimore, Johnathon Stewart and Barrow come to mind for this class as some that could help them but I see Sentimore, OTs Jordan Mills and Joey Fontana are about the only ones that might give Pelini a shot.

Without a doubt and I am hopeful that Kenny Cain will sign with Nebraska next year, although Arkansas may land him. Very early in the game, but that's just some initial thoughts.

D.J. St. Julien out of Acadiana is a kid who I hope gets a Nebraska offer (and Jordan James from STM).

As I've mentioned a few times, Nebraska was down here a couple of months ago taking first-hand looks at Jordan and St. Julien and I happened to run into the recruiter at STM. Good stuff when you have an impromptu visit like that.

I will bend their ear with high praise for the kids until I run them off.

No, I work all weekend. And with these gas prices, I can't afford to venture far from home, except for something mandatory.

It's going to happen. It's already happening.

Having P.J. and Khiry on the team - is a selling point for upcoming recruits. P.J. and Khiry are young men who make a great immediate impression when you meet them. The visiting recruits this fall will be impressed by guys like P.J. and Khiry.

P.J. will be a leader on this team as a young player. He is already second-string FS and that means he'll get some action. Especially since he can play SS as well.
