This whole Cam Akers to FSU situation is absolutely mind-boggling to me. How does he figure he'll be the starter next season with a stud named JACQUES PATRICK infront of him? Plus isn't their stable of runningbacks deeper and a tad bit more talented than ours?(idk I'm just assuming here) There must be something in Tallahassee luring this kid away from us that we aren't aware about. As soon as he steps onto campus he has a clear path to being at worst #2 RB on the depth chart(no offense to Brossette and Williams, but cmon).. at FSU he'll be fighting with 3-4 other highly ranked RBs just to be #2 on their depth chart.. I just don't get it ma

Y'all don't get it because you choose not to. You say Patrick, I say Guice and Williams, you say some RBs that haven't done much of anything or even played a college game, I say Helaire/Brossette, and even Ducre now that he doesn't have Miles to blunder in his use. For anybody thinking Ducre was just a fullback, watch his highlights and check his composite ranking.

Guice is literally the only RB on either roster, including the guy mentioned in the OP, that would hands down start over Akers.

He chose correctly if he wanted any chance to start year one, but I would have loved for him to take over from Guice in 2018.

After that shite show production of his announcement, Im not too terribly upset hes heading elsewhere. If he isnt an attention whore, somebody around him with influence certainly is. Florida State loves primadonnas. He can thrive there.

Starting opportunity in year 1 is a bonus. Starting in year 3 is a necessity for a kid wanting to get drafted high and make money in his first contract.

It is absolutely a poor decision to weight the former over the latter.

There is real risk at FSU based in the depth chart.

And Moses, Allen and Rice should've picked LSU too.

the whole reason why cam akers did not pick lsu at first. he is scared of sec opponents. let the guy go where he want to go. he could still turn back to lsu but his heart with fsu seminoles. there are other rb on the board that can come to lsu and know they can get good stats against sec opponents. devin white would be a good addition to rb so would ducre currently a fb at lsu who has not seen any play time at lsu. lsu will be fine either way, les miles converted nose guard jacob hester to rb, cant coach O do the same with some recruit out there?

"The 5-star Mississippi running back chose the ‘Noles over fellow finalists LSU, Ole Miss, Georgia, Alabama and Tennessee, but only one team truly rivaled Florida State for his commitment.

That was the Tigers, who were milliseconds away from reeling in the stud recruit.

“If it was a 40 time, Florida State hit the 40 in 4.41 (seconds),” Akers told SEC Country after first day of Army All-American Bowl practices in San Antonio.

“LSU hit it at a 4.42.”

Woah.

Those close to Akers were torn between his path to either Baton Rouge or Tallahassee, with some rumblings he was silently committed to both national college football powers in the weeks leading up to his Dec. 27 announcement.

Akers, however, said he did not make up his mind until Christmas Day.

It was Florida State, and it was not an easy decision to make.

“It was real close,” the 5-foot-11, 213-pound tailback from Clinton (Miss.) High explained.

“I didn’t make the decision until two days before I actually announced. It was real hard and it was real close.”

Akers informed members of the LSU coaching staff of his decision to head to Florida State, which led to an offer to the No. 1-ranked running back prospect in Louisiana, 4-star Travis Etienne."
