Hate to say I don't really care but playing safety in the SEC is like playing it in the NFL. It's is hardcore. (Hence all the SEC first round pics vs big 12.) They are playing flag football with pads. If he didn't think he could handle it and the competition at DBU he should go somewhere else and get an education. Because he already sent a signal to NFL that is afraid of competition and contact and just secured a free agent spot at best.

But better to discover it now and save the embarrassment of a transfer when u discover you can't hack it. Leave a spot for the real contenders.

Austin is a great town. He can have a good time and get a fee education there with a low stress low competition spot and rarely ever have to prove his metal or tackle anyone. The easy road is always more attactive for the less confident and ambitious.

247 should have taken him off our list as soon as he said that.

It's his home state, I'm cool with it. Good luck to the kid.

I'd take Aranda over Orlando but that's just me

Leon O'Neal is the guy I hope Raymond goes after. He has great intangibles, would fit really well. He wants to visit again this summer, Aggies currently lead.

You've gotten some downvotes but I agree with you. You're not gonna reach your full potential playing under Herman in the Big 12. It really is 7 on 7 with pads. Come play at DBU and let iron sharpen iron. I think he made the right choice the first time, but you can't go wrong with going to school at UT. He'd just reach his full potential more so at LSU

It was a combination of a few things

First off LSU is stacked at Safety and Caden wouldnt have seen much playing time until he was a junior

Also he stands a good chance in playing early at UT

Basically reasoning A is equivalent to reasoning C. He took the path of least resistance.

I have never heard a recruit from Raymond's position mention his lack of effort or communication as an issue. Aranda is just one coach on the staff, and not his position coach.

That said, it's his choice and I don't fault him on that. Just man up and say you saw the depth chart and wanted to play sooner for a depleted home state team. No need to throw shade on a staff that gave you an incredible opportunity for a free education, and the school with the best group of DB's in the league - therefore one of the best likelihoods that if you compete and start at some point you will make it to the NFL.

The decision is his to make, and his to live with. Accountability and honesty seem to be an ever fading trait in today's world. No need to ramp up damage control from a PR standpoint; he's a kid in highschool - it's a tough choice and one that fan's can respect. It's less respectful; however, to throw shade and skirt the truth...

Your whole post is coming off like a jilted lover. I agree with some of your sentiments, but I think it would be best if you reeled it in a bit.

You more aptly expressed his sentiments. It was less what he meant, and more how he came across that received the downvotes IMO.

Also... FYI

quote:

prove his metal

definition of prove one's mettle
:  to prove how tough one is. i.e. He proved his mettle as a fighter tonight.

FYI Caden, LSU is NFLU

While Texas comes in at #24 after Louisville and before Wisconsin....
