Legit dual threat. Gotta get this kid at LSU. He won’t start as a freshman, but he'll start after Hurley/Van Buren/a top 2026 transfer QB leaves.

quote:This is why you should pay more attention to what is going on in CFB. Arnold did have problems, but Arnold also lost his OC to Miss St as HC. Arnold also lost his top 4 WRs before the season and then lost the top transfer they brought in a couple games into the season. Every time i see Arnold slander I laugh. As a sophomore with a few games under his belt playing in the SEC, that's a lot to ask of the guy.
Let Nic Anderson host him that weekend and tell him how much better LSU is for him than Oklahoma. Also, what are elite QB’s lining up to go to Oklahoma for now that Riley is gone? Do they not see what happened to Jackson Arnold?
However now Oklahoma has Washington St's OC who came along with Washington St's QB. That QB is friggin legit. Also Arbuckle the OC is a young up and comer. He helped to build Bailey Zappe the 62 TD pass guy, and was the QB coach for Austin Reed the next year who had over 4500 yards and 40 TDs. At Washington St, he was QB and OC for Mateer and Cam Ward. I can EASILY see them using what he did for dual threat Mateer, and saying how he could do the same.
Sloan also has his own dual threat extraordinaire. One who is even better than Mateer in Jayden Daniels. He has also shown that he can develop multiple QBs now with Nuss.
Personally speaking, I'd go with LSU, but it's not like either is a bad choice. OC Arbuckle is 29. He's also trying to get Peyton Houston. Sloan is trying to get Elijiah Haven. If you're negative, both coaches (Venables and Kelly), are on kinda warm seats. Either OC could be poached for a HC position if their teams show an elite year.

I get that Arnold was dealt a bad hand with injuries around him, but he didn’t look good as a former 5 star guy last season or in the bowl game the previous year. Maybe he’s a bust, but he nor his coaches knew how to get him to play well last season which led to him being benched. His back up Hawkins didn’t fare much better.

He’s getting hyped up as the next great offensive mind. We’ll see if it translates to this league.

I may be biased, but LSU over the past 6 years has done a better job at developing QB’s than any school in the country. They have some of the most elite WR’s surrounding that QB compared to anyone in the country. Kelly isn’t getting fired unless there’s a total collapse. Venables will be fired if they don’t go at least 8-4.

Why? If someone is switching their visits to someone first, that's good. Money talk is already upfront and then everything beyond it. Mean LSU sounds more attractive to him. This happens everywhere in recruiting. If you see someone change their date to someone else before you better start worrying because it's more likely they never leave their campus since they liked what they heard over what you're offering.

OU needs a QB in the worst way. Does LSU want him in the worst way?

They already have a QB committed in this class. We didn’t take a high school guy last year and don’t have one committed this year. What do you think?

Unfortunately, money talks and, is he willing to compete and sit when Hurley takes the wheel.

You think LSU is the only place he’ll have to compete for the job? Oklahoma has another QB commit in this class, signed a high school guy last year, and brought in 3 transfer QB’s in the off-season.

Sounds a little familiar.

One thing I forgot to mention that gives LSU the heavy, heavy advantage, is that LSU has an extremely loaded WR group.

That's not at all what I said or implied.
Beaux ia a hell of a competitor and smart, like his parents. He was raised and played ball in a very competitive environment.
They will do their homework and put him in the best environment to be competitive and achive his/their goals for him, athetically and academically.
4A to LSU is a big jump. It showed in the all star game he played in with bigger classifications. He was just a Jr., I give him props.
I'd love to see him as a Tiger.

Doubt that if happens.

OU people claim they have the richest NIL in the SEC.
You even remotely believing that clown statement makes me not take anything you typed seriously. OU is nowhere in Texas’s or Texas A&Ms stratosphere when it comes to NIL alone

LSU will be looking in the portal for their starter next season.
