I live in North LA and have literally never heard one person say they don't "claim to be part of the rest of LA". I get that South LA gives North LA people shite because there is more culture and things to do in South LA. I can't dispute that. The notion that North LA folks don't view themselves as Louisiana folks is just wrong. Never heard it once.
