I remember we were at OCS, and was down by 4 are 5 points and we turned the ball over. he intercepted the ball 3 times in a row.

I went to OCS and don't remember that.

1. Jamie Spencer

The others:
Brock Berlin
Bradie James
Tristen Smith(?) - QB for Salmen in the early part of the 2000's. Single handedly beat Curtis in the dome. Went on to play WR at Tulane. One of the most impressive single game performances I've ever seen.

I was wondering if anyone would say Lawrence. My brothers played with him at JHS when they won state.

Slash Steward - never saw anyone like him including most on this list. Saw Faulk, Dunn against St. Amant in the Pit (amazing game), Juice Williams, and Rodney Thomas (Groveton, Tx.) Thomas was the best running back of those 3 mentioned, BUT Steward was the most dominant.

Randy Livingston in basketball is my fav. Guy was incredible in high school.

Are you talking about former St. Amant QB Larry Stewart?

Nope - Kordell. Jason Williams was QB when Dunn played for Catholic. He wasn't a ba QB either.

i cant believe i seen jerald sowell on someones list.he was a odd sized qb in high school at 6ft2 and 240 pounds but he ended up being a good running back at tulane and played on special teams for the jets for like 8 years.i was always a fan of his brother nat sowell who played basketball.

Shyrone Carey

Anyone who followed the Catholic League during this time got to witness one of the greatest HS athletes of our time. Shaw also had a guy either right before Shy or right after, can't remember, that played QB and was also a freaking beast.

+1. I'll never forget watching the Jesuit homecoming game in '00 when Syrone went head to head with Perrin Rittiner who was a great HS QB in his own right. One of the most unbelievable shootouts I have ever seen at any level. The teams combined for 1000 yards and a around 90. Shyrone Carey was unbelievable in the victory.

Chad Lavalais,

Played Fullback, Tight end and Linebacker. His closing speed on defense was unreal.

When I first joined the Air Force I got stationed at Langley AFB in Hampton, Virginia. While I was there I saw Allen Iverson, Aaron Brooks, Ronald Curry (played at UNC and Raiders), and Michael Vick play. Curry was so good in high school that I didn't even know who Vick was until a year later. Iverson was a Wildcat-type of QB before it ever existed, and he was one hell of a FS.

Kevin Faulk! In 1993, he and Carencro came to WM in the quarters and he played on every down except punt and kickoff coverage. He scored 2 TDs on offense and recovered a fumble for a TD on defense. WM beat the crap out of him and he kept coming. So dang talented! BTW, WM won 27-20!

Jamie Spencer was good but I don't see how so many thinks he is the best! He would have to come behind Faulk and Minor for sure.

He was the starting FB who lead the way for Curtis Martin all those years as well.

I graduated with JW and was one of his WRs all through high school. We were seniors when Dunn and Franklin were sophomores.

And yes....JW was a great QB and had he been 4 or 5 inches taller he would have been highly recruited in football as well as baseball. I have a messed up thumb because of the bullets he threw.

Larry Stewart played about 5 years after us and he was unbelievable!! He also had the vertically challenged disease.

I can talk about New Orleans metro area only. Tyrone Vauhgns -wr ehret
Reggie Cooper - lb/db slidell
Mike Stonebreaker - lb john curtis
Mickey Joseph - qb shaw
Started watching HS football around 1979. I am sure their are many more. Vaughns was a MONSTER wr for HS. What a waste of talent at the next level.

Forgot Kevin Faulk. As a sophmore qb for carencro against aug in playoffs he was amazing. St Aug always has talent and speed and they could not catch him.

Yes he was shut down at Neville. That was one game. The rules do not allow someone over 19 to play so I question that remark. Name another db besides Neville's that shut him down.

if you are referring to Tyronne Vaughn.. or Vaughans as he was known as his sr year - i am well aware of what the rules are....

a few other teams shut him down too.. I did... as did LB Landry, WJ(sr year not jr year),

matt - one of the reasons vaughn aka vaughans flopped at the next level was his age.. he simply did not develop beyond what or where he was as a jr or sr in hs.

any time he matched up with a safety that played after hs.... he was stopped cold...
