The BEST thing that Hilliard has done is become an EE and will be at LSU once these all-american games are over.

By coming in early, Moffitt can get a hold of him sooner and get him going

why no one else can see this is beyond me...... It's called potential. If he's good now, wait until he gets on board and gets in shape. Imagine he gets to 215-220 or so and leaner, quicker..... Then imagine 3-4 years from now he's 240-245 lean, muscular....

This guy is gonna be a mule behind this oline in a few years

No way he ever plays at 245 . He will play at 225 at LSU and be solid as a rock

He's a big boy. I think he'll lose some lbs and start packing them back on as muscle by next spring. We'll see.

wish someone would break down Scout v Rivals, regarding accuracy. I noticed Scout ranked Andrew Luck a 5-star, and Rivals ranked him a 4-star. Maybe different services are better at judging different positions..? For the most part it seems even when you go back several years.

Both have their hits & misses.

Scout had Jai Eugene a 5* and the #1 cornerback in the nation, while they put Javier Arenas a 3* and the #29 CB in the nation. (Arenas, you know, was a 2nd rd pick of the KC Chiefs this year.)

Rivals missed on Arenas, too, having him just a 3* ATH, but at least they had Eugene rated lower as the #12 CB in the nation.

2006 would be a good year to compare, because you can recognize a lot of names that have been pros for a couple of years, and there are a few seniors you might recognize who are finally getting their shot.

Scout class of 2006

Rivals class of 2006

Rivals put up the 1-on-1's from the West's Tuesday practices. OBJ made a few nice grabs, and looked pretty quick off the line. Routes were very crisp as well. He doesn't lose any speed when he makes a cut. George Farmar looked like the best in those videos those, that guy is very, very good.

Mike Farrell also said that Hilliard had trouble getting separation in his routes, but he plenty of separation on one route from Colt Lyerla (who is one of the better athletes in the country), but the QB underthrew him badly.

Ordinarily i'd agree about the Rivals/UA thing but they have at least 3 analysts there so they've seen them. The big difference is that ESPN will not give any of the Army guys a bump because they don't cover the game or practices at all.

Yeah, that's why around this time the Scout bumps make more sense.

I still go with Rivals though

Man you missed the best thread over on the coaching board (it got deleted). Someone was saying how you aren't an LSU trainer and that he asked other trainers

Which is a damn shame. Landry is absolutely the best WR out there.. and with all the public footage and the game being broadcasted -- why on earth would the analysts ignore footage against stud athletes?

Even though my disdain for Rivals should be obvious by now I use their ratings when posting because they are the ones every one knows and goes by.I think Scout is better with rankings but their stars are out of whack,They have faults as well.Athletevault.com does the best job but just aren't big enough to be widely known.I know they watch film and don't have biases.Have talked personally with the guy that runs the site.Very good and judges the film by what is actully there and not biases. They are a little SE biased because of where they're located but overall do a great job.

Landry is in the UA game.

By the sounds of it, Rivals might be dropping Hilliard in the rankings.

I didn't miss it, I just don't feel the need to prove myself to him or anyone for that matter. Why should i care if he doesn't believe me? No matter what I said there would just be another nay sayer later on that talked to so and so.

BTW I'm not from memphis, I grew up in memphis.

I think I am gonna stop posting hints though if I am gonna get called out for it. I have seen first hand the negative effects.

BTW every question he was asking could be answered on a Direct link to the Athletic trainer site from LSUsports.net.

Hilliard's case will be more of a thing where guys rise above him and him maybe falling some but not too far.Solid 5.9 4* on there. He's currently a 6.0 which i personally think is high(please don't kill me for that).Anyway you put it if he stays in the top 50 we should all be thrilled.I'll be happy if he stays in the top 75.

hillard did break the state rushing record. And we have had some damn good backs come out of this state.

So that alone should tell you he is a "great" running back without ever seeing a reel of film.

IDK, he's looked really good, they just think he's too heavy. He made the best catch of anyone at the practice yesterday, a one handed snag in 1-on-1 drills, and he's turned in as many nice runs as any other RB there. If they drop him, it will be a very small drop. I doubt he falls out of the top 40.

But it's ridiculous that Rivals won't look at what Landry is doing at the AA game, that's what i'm saying. He's manhandling all-americans now, Rivals should take note.

I think Hilliards stock is going to depend on how he performs in game.

Rivals is covering the UA game just not with the same amount as the Army because they are a sponser of the Army game. They have at least 3 analysts at the UA practices and game and have given updates and "top" lists every day. They've given Landry more love than ESPN and ESPN is completely covering the UA game.Landry will gt his bump, maybe not a 5th* but he'll move up.For the record though Landry is already pretty high on Rivals.Higher than anywhere else i'm pretty sure.

Scout-#7 wr and 58 overall
Rivals-#4 wr and 32 overall
ESPN-#12 wr and 67 overall

for LSU's sake I hope Hilliard is successful but after reading all the hype I was looking forward to watching him at dome and could not have been more disappointed with what I saw. Hit hole like a sissy and was tackled with ease. Guess he was having off game?
