. . . would seem like it from this LINK
specially considering what happened with the top 3 last cycle

Uh, yea. Considering they're both in a position of major need in this class...

it doesn't matter what a website lists them as, they are both top priorties for LSU.

Imo, these are the must haves out of La this year.
K. Beckwith
J. Boutte
K. S. M.
R. Jefferson
T. Williams
D. Smith
M. Jones
The last one is a guy I am extremely high on because he projects to a few different positions. I know there are some names not on my list that others will not like but these are the guys I like the most.
I am not as high on Diarse as others, I like Standish pretty much the same as Desean, and I love Patterson but I think the staff has other guys higher on the board.

It seems a lot of people are pretty high on T. Prevot out of Houston . . . is there a chance we take both he and Williams as WDE's and Beckwith as a SDE (3 DE's)?

Yes, if Mingo and Monty both go pro after this year (very good chance), we are down to only 4 returning DEs. So this is the biggest need on the roster in terms of numbers, and LSU should sign 3.

I think the coaches would take all 3 but I highly doubt it happens. I'd be just as happy with 2 of those 3 and Micheal Patterson from Winnfield. Kid has a high celing and has size. All gonna come down to numbers. Melvin Jones could/should also be in that mix as well. He could realistically be a LB,DE or DT on defense depending on how big he gets.
Do think Williams and Beckwith are the 2 closest to must gets in the state this year. Need position and high talent. Not sure about any of the others being must gets aside from perception. Jefferson and Smith are probably the most talented of the other guys but kids like Jefferson are everywhere and come in spades and TE just hasn't been an important position for us in a while. If we are going to use a TE with Smith's skillset then I can agree he's a must get. Proof is in the pudding.

I agree with this statement. LA has quite a few of these types. Which IMO is a good problem to have

Patterson from Winnfield has plenty of room to grow and is athletic as hell. I really hope he ends up at LSU.

This may sound dumb but I think Jones is going to end up being the best college player out of them all and I would leave him at MLB. The guy is going to be a stud once he gets into a college practice/conditioning enviroment.

I'm not sure about the best just yet but it's closer than most think imo. I think the kid is a stud. If I were in charge offering, he would have had one a while ago. Doesn't matter to me if most of his film is at QB either. Just get him on campus and let his body and athletic ability determine where he plays.
About Jefferson, I agree it's a good thing and that was my basic point. There are 4-5 kids similarly athletic a year that are LSU caliber in LA. On top of that is another 8-10 kids who are similarly athletic but maybe a little smaller, raw or just missing something that end up at mid tier schools and play well. Just this year LA has White,Jefferson,Lewis,Antoine and Brazil who are all similarly sized and skilled athletically with minor differences and positional skillsets. It's a great situation to be in imo.
