most kids at evangel are held in 8th grade for at least 2 years, so they all graduate at 19+, so this late-bloomer stuff isn't correct and that is why none of the evangel kids ever do good in college is because they have outlived thier prime, they are good high school players but never very good in college ie: JD Booty, Brock Berlin, Thomas Bachman, Phillip Maxwell
the only evangel kid to do well later is that dawson guy thats a dt for the colts who was a fullback at evangel

Saban doesn't dictate our recruiting efforts or evaluation of instate prospects.

its clear saban's strategy is to pick up a few louisiana prospects every year, even if they are leftovers, just for appearances and for that edge when there is actually a good prospect down the road
You actually believe this?

Right now we're able to recruit guys that Bama has no chance at. That's why they need to take more chances on these under the radar guys.
Signed Josh Williford and Morris Claiborne.

and who exactly can you recruit that we have no chance at. Dont be stupid, we both have a chance at anyone in the southeast. Your recruiting margin has slimmed and UA is def. recruiting on the level of LSU. Don't make stupid claims like this without backing it up

In regards to Williford and Claiborne.
And to Champ:
Jesus Gumps, I'm not saying you're not heading in that direction. I'm just referring to our ability to recruit more on the national level (Washington, Utah, California, you're not doing much in Texas these days). Settle down and don't get so damn defensive.

With Saban, we recruit just as well as LSU and Florida, don't try to fool yourself.

You're dead wrong and your view of Evangel is incorrect like most people's are that post stuff like this on this board.
Out lived their prime? Do you know how stupid you just made yourself sound? Oh yeah guys in College that got held back one year when they were younger are set to fail because of?
Phillip Maxwell and Thomas Bachman were not big time recruits. Phillip was a special teams player and 3rd string LB at LSU the whole time and was never expected to be a big time player. Thomas Bachman ended up picking Texas Tech over UCLA out of High school but got heavy interest from Dooley while he was recruiting for LSU back in 2001. Bachman saw plenty of PT at Texas Tech as a RSF and did pretty well. He had some injury problems and then eventually (some people don't know this) Saban had a meeting with Bachman and promised Thomas a Scholarship at LSU. So he transferred to LSU and in the 2nd week of Spring Practice in 2004, he had a bad shoulder injury and ended up leaving LSU because of the injury. If not for the injury he would have played at LSU.

Yeah Dawson didn't get hardly any offers because he was a late bloomer and now he gets alot of PT for the colts and he was the only good one huh??
