I was able to get a bunch of fresh clippings from about 4 year old gardenia bushes in May/June. I rooted them in vases of rain water for over a month and recently have about potted them (1-2 per gallon size pot) and have about 30 total pots. (they are about 10-12" tall right now) keeping them moist with collected rain water and they are thriving. Should I continue with my original plan to keep them in pots until the spring of 2023 to plant in my backyard? I plan to have them create a privacy hedge along my black aluminum fence.

I would think late fall or winter.

Let's see what others have to say.

agree. my concern would be freezing for the couple days of the year that we drop below. Im not going to want to try to protect a full hedge row from frost if needed.
