Looks a lot like the foliage of Hurricane Lilies, foliage appears after the bloom is spent.

Someone planted those. They are bulbs. In September (usually) A flower stalk will shoot up and bloom a red flower. We used to call it spider lily. After the bloom dies, the foliage appears.
Mine didn't bloom this year, probably because of the drought.

They pop up in the fall at old homesites. I had some pop up in my yard a few years ago, I didn’t plant them. Last year they were gorgeous, this year there were only five blooms, drought I guess. I love them.

Thanks everyone. That area used to be covered with Asian jasmine and all kinds of vines/trees.
It’s far enough in a corner where I’ll just keep them and see what happens next year. Sounds like an interesting plant!
