Too Late for Leveling Lot?

I've been waiting to get my back yard (1/2 acre or so) tilled up and leveled. Guy didn't want to do it with it being so dry but now that it's rained a bit he's wanting to go ahead but I am wondering if it is not too late to do it this year as I am not sure I have enough time to get Bermuda seeded and grown enough before the temp changes. I don't want to have it just be mud all winter. Should I go ahead and have it done and maybe just let it go natural till the spring or would you just wait at this point until the spring to do it all at once. Back yard is a bitch a this point to cut with the zero turn with all the bumps.

Should be enough time to germinate bermuda. You could also do what Augusta does and overseed your lawn with annual rye grass if the bermuda doesn't come in thick enough for the winter. Of course that means you'll be cutting it periodically throughout the winter.

Did you mean perennial?
Do this regardless! You'll have a beauty of lawn for winter.

Perfect time right now. Chop it and seed, Bermuda will take with the heat we have left and nice afternoon showers.

I planted bermuda about a month ago and it sprouted like crazy for the most part. Water water water

I planted some yesterday. Being 2 ft short of rainfall this year has been a challenge. I am a black belt in watering this year.

If he’s ready you better do it now.

Like the only advantage of being on well water is I can water as much as I want without too much financial burden.

If it’s just temporary due to these harsh conditions on our lawns I’m guessing you would want annual so it goes away for next spring.

I’ve read that people in the south simply nuke their PRG to allow warm season green up.

Yes indeed. My well has been in over drive all year!
