I have a very active fig tree in my yard that grows like crazy. I usually prune it in Jan/Feb (cut off the new growth), but haven't done that yet this year and it leafing out.

Too late to prune now?

It's on a fence on the property line so I really need to cut it back. Jackson, MS.

I'm guessing it hasn't or it's just starting to leaf out? Prune to your heart's content

yeah you can prune a fig any time of year as long as you take whole branches…don’t prune like a hedge or you will just be cutting off your future fruit
