Reasonable recourse for ‘lemon’ heater.

Had a heater installed in August of 24.
There have been numerous issues with keeping the downstairs warm.
Techs keep coming out and replacing a sensor here or a switch there.
To say we endured the cold snap is still and overstatement. We did just fine.
However, the quality doesn’t match the price and what can you do to embarrass the owner into action?
He is supposed to call me today at 2pm. I’ve not been a prick so far and want to remain courteous. But when and do things get real?

Look into Louisiana redhibition laws maybe? One of the few things the state gets correct
quote:
CHAPTER 9. REDHIBITION
Art. 2520. Warranty against redhibitory defects
The seller warrants the buyer against redhibitory defects, or vices, in the thing sold.
A defect is redhibitory when it renders the thing useless, or its use so inconvenient that it must be presumed that a buyer would not have bought the thing had he known of the defect. The existence of such a defect gives a buyer the right to obtain rescission of the sale.
A defect is redhibitory also when, without rendering the thing totally useless, it diminishes its usefulness or its value so that it must be presumed that a buyer would still have bought it but for a lesser price. The existence of such a defect limits the right of a buyer to a reduction of the price.
Acts 1993, No. 841, §1, eff. Jan. 1, 1995.

Do you have an open floor plan home that allows all the heat to run up the stairs?

Don’t be confrontational, ask him to help you get it replaced under warranty provided it’s still under warranty. Ask for warranty extension. Tell him you want to give a good review but so far that’s a problem. Explain that freezing your jewels off a couple weeks was not part of the deal.

I called and asked to speak to owner. They said he would call back.
Instead a tech came out at 930 am and inspected it.
Loose wire connection that the install crew did not tighten.
That was the cause instead of the sensor they replaced twice. I suppose that the end of it.
