Raised Bed Watering Help

Just picked up an automatic timer and soaker hose for my watering. Gonna be gone on vacation next week. Just wondering if anybody waters with a soaker hose, how long you run it, and how often. So far I have mostly just watered manually in the evening before dark. Thought about doing morning and evening now with the timer but I have read many mentions about not over watering. Is there any way to judge if I am getting the right amount of water? And obviously I understand it’s not needed on a lot of these days like we’ve had lately with all the rain. This is my first vegetable garden so I appreciate any help!
