I was unaware of that. My fabricator didn't present this to me. I have not had any issues with chipping.
I did let my fabricator know my edge profile, which is straight.
Below is what I was trying to copy in terms of the stone, spacing, and cutout. This is actually a picture from a Home Depot brochure that I liked.

And this is the end result (work in progress).

Added LED under counter lighting.
