I was doing some work in the backyard last night and found some army worms around the yard. I had them pretty bad last year and came across this video on a treatment that worked well for me.
Video: "Armyworms in Lawn - How To With Doc" Fast forward to about 1:30.
For those that don't want to watch the video:
Step 1 - Cut your grass
Step 2 - Treat with Spectracide Triazicide granular
Step 3 - Follow with a Permethrin SFR spray
Step 4 - Pray those little bastards go away and repeat about 3 to 4 weeks later.

Yep, I’ve seen them in SW LA and in the Baton Rouge area.

They are here in Florida panhandle as well.
Has anyone else noticed they seemed to ignore zoysia and will rampage through Bermuda?

Of you go to his linked site he shows a new product identified in April 2019.... Duocide.
I wonder how this compares to the older 2 step approach

Not sure. I always like the permethrin because it has a good bit of residual effect and kills mosquitoes and other flying insects as well.
It looks like its an Andersons product which I know Doc has been working closely with over the last year or so. Their new PGF Fertilizer they came out with is supposedly top-notch. I have three bags coming in this week.
