My lawn has some pretty large bare spots that got taken over by summer grassy weeds that I’m trying to control now with a post emergent.

I’d like to start getting ahead of these weeds and put a pre emergent down like Prodiamine in the fall and spring next year but I also need to seed these bare areas with some Bermuda grass too.

I’m not quite sure what to do, if I seed, then it’s very possible the winter/summer weeds will come back, if I put pre em, my seeds won’t take.
What would y’all think I should do in the fall and spring?

If seed is the route you‘ve chosen then don’t do a pre em. You’ll want to seed as soon as soil temps are right. Get seed established and then fight the weeds with Celsius.

Think I should try to seed in the fall before frost so I don’t have to struggle with these warm season weeds again?
