Plant recs - weed control & unable to mow

Looking for plant recommendation on weed control outside of Roundup in an area that cannot be mowed.
Due to some large oak branches that touch the ground and extend far away from the tree I have about a 200sq ft area that I need a plan for. The soil is extremely fertile and weeds grow like crazy. The area gets sun the vast majority of the day as it far away from the house so looking for relatively low maintenance.
I’ve tried wildflowers before but they got drowned out quickly. Was currently thinking about trying to plant a ton of Muhly grass in that area to drown out weeds and provide fall color.
Any other thoughts or recommendations?

Any pictures? do you want something short or tall for that area?
