In this case the cheaper unit is more efficient. If the single stage is properly sized, the 2-stage wont really even have a comfort advantage. The 2-stage would really only be worth it for zoning if present.

The Lennox system SHOULD become a 10year warranty when it is registered. I think there is only one Lennox line that is only 5 years and it is super cheap builders stuff nowhere near $11.5k.

The extra $ for the daiken in this situation is just pure waste.

They do not. The EPA does that for you though with the SEER rating.
