My dumbass wasn’t thinking clearly. I saw some Virginia buttonweed around a few of my Eagleston Hollys planted back in January. They are in my lawn by the fence line. Spot sprayed under the drip line of a few of them.

How screwed am I? No big deal or should I dig up the top layer of dirt that I sprayed?

Yikes! I don’t know there there is much you can do at this point, though. Most of the fine roots of a plant are in the top several inches of soil, so you would probably do more damage than good digging. I’d just wait and see what happens….

The only thing that I’m hopeful for is that I’ve been storing the granules in my garage for the past 13 months. I noticed the last time I sprayed for spurge it really didn’t do a number on it. I’ve read that it can degrade if stored in hot and humid garages.

I can try and flush it out and soak the area?

That is another option…you may be able to dilute it enough to not cause harm. Be careful to not flood so much that you spread the problem, though.
