If it doesn’t have a gas shut off valve install one. Saves the carburetor from gumming up.

Found it funny no one mentioned this: NEVER use ethanol gas in the tank. If you have done so up to now, stop. Use NON-Ethanol ONLY. Air filer clean or change VERY IMPORTANT. Carbs on the mowers now are problematic, I would follow the advice of one reponder, when you are in the mood, practice taking the carb off and open up the bowl take a look at the needle valve, at some point you will be either changing the valve OR just putting on a new carb. Finally, you should be SURE you find and record both the model number and engine type. Youtube will show you where top find the number (sometimes not that easy). Youtube is a great help with most jobs you will have to do. Any parts you may need, see ereplacementparts on the web.
