The easiest way is get a cat. I hate cats but they do a damn good job of keeping critters away.

Agree, for anything smaller than the cat. My old yard ferals were great for field mice, voles, moles, squirrels, frogs, lizards and armadillo (who are seriously dumb), but useless against possums or raccoons. The cats avoided the possum and were actively afraid of raccoons.

Ive heard that moles like to eat grubs so kill the grubs and they will leave.
