Irrigation Time - Not battery powered

I have an Orbit battery powered irrigation timer that opens a valve to irrigate, but the batteries seem to die too fast, leaving my plants unwatered before I notice the battery died.
Besides going to a full rain bird system, does anyone know of an AC powered irrigation timer that goes between the spigot and sprinklers?

Sprinkler Warehouse, a great online irrigation store in Houston, has a solar powered hose timer on sale.
But I've never had good luck with hose timers. Unlike 110 volt irrigation controls, the hose timers seem to go bad quickly.

I've replaced two of the Rainbird ones like that. The freeze got one and the other the cheap plastic part snapped off when tightening the nut
