A rock hit the glass on my back door while I was mowing last week, resulting in the glass splintering. Plaquemine Glass came out and said they could not fix it due to the type of door. Do you have any other suggestions for glass makers, or am I stuck with having to buy and paint a new door? Thanks for your help with this.

Is it untempered glass? I had the same looking door and the same problem. Glass companies wouldn’t touch it.

I went to ACE Hardware off of Highland Road and had them cut me a piece of glass. I removed the wood stops that held that piece of glass in the door, used a bit of window glazing putty, inserted the new piece of glass, and reinstalled the wood stops and carefully secured with very small finish nails.
