Looking to upgrade my hedge trimmer for around the house. I have a 22 inch electric trimmer that is just ok. It's a bit of a pain to reach the back of the bushes.

Thinking about upgrading to a trimmer that would attach to my gas Echo weed eater LINK

Does anyone have any experience with this type of trimmer? Will it be a significant upgrade over the electric? I would like to be able to cut 1/2" to 3/4" with ease

I really dont want to buy another independent hedge trimmer

My options are to keep the electric trimmer or buy the attachment for the gas weed eater. I'm looking for someone who has experience with the attachments to know if it is a significant upgrade over the electric setups

Do you currently have a split boom trimmer?

I have a John Deere 140SB, and have the hedger attachment. I find it very heavy on the cutting end, and difficult for precise work. I also have edger, cultivator, & string trimmer attachments, all which work great. It’s just the hedge trimmer I couldn’t get used to

I'm not sure. It's an Echo PAS-225

I use one for large specimen plants, such as ligustrum, beds of thorny plants, like floribunda roses, and on Carolina jasmine vines I have growing on my pool fence. It is nice to not have an electric cord to worry about. I find the attachment too awkward and heavy for small hedge plantings.
