I’ve got a gas stove at a friends camp. The burners work fine but the oven doesn’t heat. The igniter doesn’t heat when the oven is turned on. When I tried to turn on the oven I thought I would be able to smell gas but I can’t smell anything. Is it worth trying to change out the igniter or is there larger problems?

Probably the issue. Not many parts make up an oven. Google model # . I’ve changed out several over the years. Many appliance part companies will have Instructional videos attached.

Changing the ignitor is easy. I changed mine last year. Amazon or Ebay are great places to look for one reasonable. Also many online appliance guys that sell parts reasonable.
