We have French doors to the back patio at our new place. There’s locking mechanisms in the top of the doorframe (pictured) and identical piece on the bottom.

The bottom one is broken. I went to ACE hardware with the broken piece and pictures. The two older guys working there told me they had never seen one before …

I’ve been unsuccessful trying to google search it. Anyone know what this is called or where to find a replacement?

Thanks

I suggest trying the local lumber yards. Or call some window/door shops. They may be able to help.

One is for your flush bolts for your inactive door. The other is an internal top and bottom latch on the active door. You will have to go somewhere like trimco or another door specialty store.

That’s actually a great idea. Find a local specialty shop. Thanks

I just assumed it was a standard piece and that a local Ace Hardware would have it. They’re usually pretty good about that stuff.

Thanks again

It’s an atypical flush bolt I haven’t personally encountered before. You trigger them on and off by lifting up on the door handle. The piece that’s circled is broken.

Picture is on the top of the door and doorframe (unbroken piece). There’s an identical one on the floor/bottom frame that is broken. It’s made out of some hard plastic material and not metal. I’m just trying to replace it.

Ace guys claim they have never seen it before. I was hoping just to find one online and have it shipped. But I can’t find one, so I think going to a specialty door shop place is a great idea. I’m in the New Orleans area though, not Baton Rouge
